Postgraduate Studies 馃摎
![]() |
I think that
throughout all the blogs I have written, you may have realized how much I love
music and science journalism, and how much I would like to work in this area in
the future.
One of the
postgraduate studies that I have in my sights, thanks to a teacher
recommendation, is a master degree in Latin American musicology at the Alberto
Hurtado University. This graduate will give me the tools to develop the ability
to link musical practices with historical, social and cultural aspects in Chile
and Latin America and to understand diverse realities of the musical field in
Chile and Latin America from a multidisciplinary perspective. I would like to
be able to do this master's degree while I am working in a few years more, in
fact the part time modality of study is that most suits me.
On the other
hand, I think if I can do a master’s degree or another graduate, I would like
to go abroad, specifically to some Latin American universities that teach courses
about this music, because we are in a musical context that where playing Latin
rhythms in a song is almost a miracle. In that way, my idea is to be able to go
deeper into sounds that should be heard every day.
Finally, I believe
that doing postgraduate studies to expand our knowledge in different areas is
quite convenient in the case of journalists, because we must have a
specialization to develop better in our future jobs.
