Jorge González 🎤

Going to see live music is one of my favourite activities to do during my free time, so much so that I cannot decide which is the best concert I’ve ever gone. But, I think one of the most important concert I’ve ever gone is Jorge González playing at the Club Chocolate in 2014, two years before the cerebellar ischemic attack strikes him during the summer of 2016.

If you don’t know, Jorge González is – in my opinion -  one of the most important singer-songwriter, and DJ of our country. Claudio Narea, Miguel Tapia and he created the most popular band in Chile called “Los Prisioneros”, launching three albums which continue to be heard as part of the popular music culture in Chilean radios. Jorge also released the most important album for the current pop generation called “Corazones” and worked in cumbia, electronic, rap and folk albums during his career.

During the concert, Jorge played 25 songs that means 2 hours of concert when he reviewed the best of their repertoire, playing songs of Los Prisioneros and his solo career. The people always listened to him with a lot of attention and I will never forget what he said about the young people who sing his songs. He looked at my friend and me and said “I feel grateful when I see that younger generations know my new songs”.
